Ellevation's Language Program model lets you create and assign custom Language Programs to track student program participation across your district. With Language Programs in place, you can visualize key data and monitor your district's language program outcomes over time.

This article covers how to:

To learn how to assign or change Language Programs for your students, see Assign Language Programs. To learn how to configure Language Programs as an Ellevation Administrator, see Configure Language Programs.

View Students' Language Program Information

Students' Language Program information appears on the EL/LEP Services and Programs tab of the Student Profile (the label of this tab may vary by district). EL/LEP Service information is displayed at the top of the tab and Language Program information at the bottom. You can reach this tab using either of the following methods.

Search Using the Search Bar

  1. Search for the student by name or ID number using the search bar at the top right of your screen.
  2. Click the student's name to open their profile in the current tab, or click the Open icon to the right to open it in a new tab.
  3. Click the EL/LEP Services and Programs tab.

Locate the Student in the Student List

  1. Apply Filters on the left to narrow down your list and quickly find the student.
  2. Hover over the student's name.
  3. Click the arrow to the right of the Student button that appears.
  4. Select EL/LEP Services and Programs to open the student's tab in a new tab.

By default, assigned EL/LEP Services and Programs are sorted by Academic Period and all historical records are displayed. To view general program details, click the Expand icon to the left of the Language Program name.

💡 Quick Tip

If your district tracks Language Programs in Ellevation, every student should always have one Language Program assigned. Students who do not participate in a Bilingual, ESL, or Dual Language Program can be assigned a program indicating mainstream enrollment, such as English Language Mainstream. If you are unsure which program to assign, contact your Ellevation Administrator. To customize the available Language Programs as an Administrator, see Configure Language Programs.
