Testing Accommodations/Designated Supports are modifications to tests or testing conditions that allow ELs to demonstrate their knowledge and skills on standardized assessments. This article covers how to view, filter for, and generate reports on students' Testing Accommodation/Designated Support records in Ellevation.

Testing Accommodations or Designated Supports is a customizable label that your Ellevation Administrator can optionally configure. The terms used in your district may not exactly match the terminology in the Ellevation Resource Center.

View Students' Testing Accommodations/Designated Supports
Each student's historical Testing Accommodation/Designated Support records are displayed on the Testing Accommodations/Designated Supports tab of the Student Profile. You can navigate to this tab in two ways.
Option 1: Search for the Student
- Use the search bar at the top right of your screen to find the student by name or ID number.
- Click the student's name to open their profile in the current tab, or click the Open icon to the right to open it in a new tab.
- Click the Testing Accommodations/Designated Supports tab.
Option 2: Locate the Student in the Student List
- Apply Filters on the left to narrow down your list and quickly find the student.
- Hover over the student's name.
- Click the arrow to the right of the Student button that appears.
- Select Testing Accommodations/Designated Supports to open the tab in a new tab.
By default, records are sorted first by Test Period and then alphabetically by Test Name within each period. All historical accommodation records are displayed.
- To filter the view to a specific test, test period, or designated support, use the dropdown menus at the top right of the tab.
- To view details for an individual record, click the Expand icon to the left of the record.
- To expand all records at once, click Show All Test Details at the top left of the tab.
ℹ️ Note
If a student has an IEP and/or a 504 plan, a blue banner will appear above their accommodation list. Testing Accommodations/Designated Supports assigned in Ellevation should address the student's needs as an English learner and not accommodations they receive through other services.
Filter for Students Based on Testing Accommodations/Designated Supports
To find students based on their assigned Testing Accommodations/Designated Supports, use Filters in the Student List.
- Click Students on the navigation bar, then select Student List.
- In the Find Filters search bar on the left, search for the term your district uses for Testing Accommodations/Designated Supports.
- Select a test if you want to see students with accommodations on a specific test, or choose Any Test to see students with accommodations on any test.
- Choose the appropriate filter option:
- For is any of or is not any of, type and select the appropriate Testing Accommodation(s)/Designated Support(s).
- Click Refine by Year/Semester and select a testing period to return only students who have the selected accommodations for the selected test during that time period.
- Click Done.
💡 Quick Tip
After filtering, you can use the Student List to batch-assign or update accommodations for the students in your results. See Assign Testing Accommodations/Designated Supports for steps.
Generate Reports, Listings, or Exports for Testing Accommodations/Designated Supports
Ellevation offers pre-defined Reports and Listings that include Testing Accommodation/Designated Support data, available to download as a PDF or print. These include the State Testing Accommodations Report and the Standardized Testing Accommodation Listing.
