Configure Standardized Tests

To keep accommodation data accurate for your English learners (ELs), you can configure which Standardized Tests appear in Ellevation and which Testing Accommodations/Designated Supports are available for each one. This ensures educators only assign supports that are valid for a given test.

To configure the list of available Standardized Tests and their supports, Administrators can:

• Navigate to the Standardized Tests Settings page
• Configure the list of available Standardized Tests
• Configure the Testing Accommodations/Designated Supports available for each Standardized Test

Navigate to the Standardized Tests Settings Page

To open the Standardized Tests Settings page:

1. Click the Admin menu icon at the top right of your screen.
2. Click Ellevation Settings.
3. Select Standardized Tests.

Configure the List of Available Standardized Tests

The list of available Standardized Tests in Ellevation should include every Standardized Test for which Accommodations will be assigned in Ellevation.

By default, the View Active Tests option is selected, so only active tests appear. To view or edit inactive tests, select View All Tests from the dropdown at the top right of the page.

Add a New Standardized Test

1. Click + New Standardized Test.
2. Enter a Standardized Test Name.
3. Select the Active checkbox.
4. Add optional Guidance.
5. Add a Sort Order.
   • The Sort Order determines the order in which standardized tests appear in dropdown menus and lists in Ellevation.
6. Uncheck any Accommodations that cannot be assigned for this Standardized Test.
   • If an Accommodation is unchecked for a test, it appears in gray when users assign or recommend Accommodations for that test. Users cannot assign or recommend unchecked Accommodations for a test.
7. Click Save New Test.

Edit a Standardized Test Name

⚠️ Warning

Do not change the name of a Standardized Test that is currently assigned to students. Any change you make will affect historical data. To check whether a test is in use, look at the Students column: if the number is greater than 0, the test is assigned to students and cannot be edited.

If the test is assigned to one or more students, deactivate the test you want to adjust and create a new one.

To deactivate a test:

1. Click the test name.
2. Uncheck the Active checkbox.
3. Click Change Status in the confirmation popup.
4. Follow the steps above to add a new test.

ℹ️ Note

Deactivated tests appear under the Test Accommodations/Designated Supports tab of the Student Profile for any student the test was assigned to. Deactivated tests do not appear as filter options within the Student List.

If the test is assigned to no students, you can edit the test name.

To edit a test:

1. Click the test name.
2. Click Rename to the right of the test name.
3. Update the test name.
4. Click OK to the right of the new test name.
5. Click Rename Standardized Test in the confirmation popup.

Configure the Testing Accommodations/Designated Supports Available for Each Standardized Test

To configure the Testing Accommodations/Designated Supports available for each Standardized Test:

1. Click the test name.
2. Check or uncheck the boxes to the left of the Accommodation names so that only the Accommodations that should be assigned for the test are checked.
   • Only active Accommodations appear on this list.
   • If you deselect an Accommodation, users cannot select it when assigning or recommending Accommodations for that test.
3. Click Save Standardized Test at the bottom of the page.
