Assign Goals

🔐 Account type(s) with default permissions to manage this: Administrator (Specialist permissions may vary)

💻 Tier(s) this is available for: Foundation, Essential, Pro

Ellevation lets you assign English language proficiency Goals for your ELs and track their progress over time. This article covers how to assign Goals to individual students or groups, edit or delete existing assignments, and log progress updates.

Depending on the Goal Restrictions configured by your Ellevation Administrator, you can assign Goals from three sources:

  • Ellevation Goals: Language goals aligned to your state's English language proficiency model, drawn from the Ellevation Goalbank.
  • District Goals: Custom goals configured by your Ellevation Administrator to reflect your district's specific needs.
  • Teacher Goals: Goals you write and assign to your own students. Teacher Goals are stored in your personal Goalbank, which is private to you — you cannot share Goals from your personal Goalbank or access another teacher's. Once added, a Teacher Goal can be edited but not deleted.

💡 Quick Tip

To configure a District Goalbank, set Goal Progress Options, or set Goal Restrictions, see Configure Goals. To view Goals and Goal Progress reports, see Learn about Goals.
