To keep your EL program records current, you can configure how Goals work across your district: build a custom Goalbank, define how progress is tracked, and control who can assign and edit Goals. This gives your team a consistent framework for setting and monitoring English language proficiency Goals.
As an Administrator, you can manage every part of Goal settings:
- Navigate to the Goal Management page
- Customize your district Goalbank
- Configure Progress Status Options
- Set Goal Restrictions
Navigate to the Goal Management Page
To open the Goals settings page:
- Click the Admin menu icon.
- Click Ellevation Settings.
- Select Student Goals.
Customize Your District Goalbank
Ellevation provides a standard Goalbank aligned to each state's English Language Proficiency model. As an Administrator, you can customize a district Goalbank that users with edit access to Goals can pull from when assigning Goals.
To customize a district Goalbank:
- Navigate to the district Goalbank.
- Click the Admin menu icon.
- Click Ellevation Settings.
- Select Student Goals.
- You will be brought to the District Goals tab.
- Add or edit Goals.
- To add a Goal: click + Add Goal at the bottom of the page, add a Goal Title, add a Goal Description, add optional Goal details (Domain, Grade Level(s), ELP Standard, and/or Proficiency Level(s)) to make the Goal easier to find using filters, then click Save or Save/Add to continue adding Goals.
- To edit a Goal: locate the Goal in the District Goalbank (use the Text Filter search bar or the Domain/Type, Grade, ELP Standard, or Proficiency Level filters), click the Goal name, update the Goal Title, Description, Domain, Grade Level(s), ELP Standard, and/or Proficiency Level(s), then click Save.
- To delete a Goal: locate the Goal in the District Goalbank, click the Goal name, then deactivate or delete it.
ā¹ļø Note
Any changes you make to a Goal in your District Goalbank will update the Goal information for students who have that Goal assigned. To see which students have the Goal assigned, click Students with this Goal at the bottom of the page. Changes to the Goal Title or Goal Description will not affect existing assignments if the Title or Description was edited at the time the Goal was assigned.
ā ļø Warning
If a Goal is assigned to one or more students, deactivate it instead of deleting it so that historical assignments are preserved. To deactivate, click the checkbox to the right of Active at the top of the page, then click Save. Once deactivated, people can no longer assign that Goal from the District Goalbank. You can delete a Goal only when it is not assigned to any students.
To generate a listing of Goals in the District Goalbank, click Generate Listing at the bottom of the page.
