Ellevation can display student course grades imported from your SIS, giving your team an additional measure for tracking EL progress. Districts in states such as California, Texas, Florida, and Arkansas commonly import course grade data when grades are required for reclassification decisions. Supported grading periods include end-of-year, semester, and quarterly grades.
ℹ️ Note
Course Grades are only available in select states, and not all districts import this data. If you do not see the Course Grades tab on the Student Profile, your district may not have Course Grades in Ellevation.
This article covers how to:
- View Students' Course Grades
- Filter for Students Based on Course Grades
- Use Course Grades as Criteria for Meetings/LPACs or Monitoring
- Import Course Grades
View Students' Course Grades
Students' Course Grades are displayed on the Course Grades tab of the Student Profile. You can reach a student's Course Grades tab two ways.
Search for the Student
- Use the search bar at the top right of your screen to search for the student by name or ID number.
- Click the student's name to open their profile in the current tab, or click the Open icon to the right to open it in a new tab.
- Click the Course Grades tab.
Locate the Student in the Student List
- Apply Filters on the left to narrow your list and locate the student.
- Hover over the student's name.
- Click the arrow to the right of the Student button that appears.
- Select Course Grades to open the student's Course Grades tab in a new tab.
By default, Course Grades are sorted by Grading Period and all historical records are displayed.
To customize the view:
- To sort by a column, click the Sort icon to the right of that column header. Click it again to switch to descending order, and a third time to remove the sort.
- To filter by Grade Level, Grading Period, and/or Course Subject, use the dropdown menus at the top right of the tab.
Filter for Students Based on Course Grades
To identify students who meet specific criteria based on their Course Grades, apply Course Grades filters in the Student List.
- Click Students on the navigation bar.
- Select Student List.
- Search for "Grade" in the Filter options and select Course Grades.
- Add one or more Course Grades filters to identify students who meet your criteria.
Use Course Grades as Criteria for Meetings/LPACs or Monitoring
Ellevation Administrators can include Course Grades as student eligibility criteria in Meetings/LPACs and Monitoring Settings, making it easier to identify ELs who may need additional support based on their grade data.
- To set Student Eligibility Criteria for Meetings/LPACs, see Configure Meetings or Configure LPACs.
- To set Student Criteria for Monitoring Forms, see Configure Monitoring Forms.
Import Course Grades
Course Grades must be imported into Ellevation by Ellevation's Data Integration Team and cannot be added or edited directly in the platform. To set up a regular Course Grades data feed from your SIS as an Ellevation Administrator, see Import Course Grades into Ellevation.
