The Strategies Activity Insights page gives Administrators actionable data on how educators across the district interact with and use Strategies activities. This article shows you how to access and read the page, and how to configure which Account Types can view it.
The Activity Insights page identifies top-performing and underused activities and surfaces clear patterns and trends, such as the most common instructional practice, the top domain explored, and the top activity used. This data helps you celebrate successes, recognize where targeted instructional support may be needed, and connect classroom activity to stronger multilingual learner outcomes.
ℹ️ Note
Activity Insights tracks unique user views beginning July 15, 2025. Views before that date are not reflected in the data.

Access and Navigate the Activity Insights Page
By default, only Ellevation users with an Administrator Account Type can access the Activity Insights page. You can adjust this in the steps for configuring permissions below.
To get to the page:
- Select Strategies from the top navigation.
- Select Insights from the dropdown menu.
At the top of the Insights page is your At a Glance snapshot, a complete, all-time view of activity engagement in your district. This summary helps you quickly identify successful strategies and confirm they align with district goals.
Below the snapshot, you'll find a ranked list of top activities with corresponding practices and domains, updated automatically every 24 hours.
ℹ️ Note
The Activity Insights page differs slightly between the Essential and Pro tiers. The Essential view does not include Instructional Practice data; it shows domains, top activity, unique views, and similar metrics. If you don't see Instructional Practice data described here, check with your Ellevation Administrator about your district's tier.
You can filter the table data by:
- Searching for a specific activity title or name
- Start and end date of the time period you want to review usage trends for
- School (you can only filter for schools you are associated with in Ellevation)
- Domain (Speaking, Reading, Listening, or Writing)
These filters do not affect the At a Glance tiles at the top of the page. Those tiles only show all-time data.
You can also sort the table data by:
- Activity Title
- Instructional Practice (available with the Ellevation Pro tier only)
- Language Domain
- How many unique views the activity received within the selected dates. Unique views are counted as one view per unique user per activity. If one teacher views the same activity ten times, it counts as a single view.
Configure Permissions to View the Activity Insights Page
By default, only Ellevation users with an Administrator Account Type can access the Activity Insights page.
To manage which Account Types have access to this page:
- Select the Admin menu icon in the top right corner of your screen.
- Select User Management.
- Select Permissions.
- On the Manage Permissions page, scroll down to locate Professional Learning Management.
- Select the Edit Permissions button.
- In the Edit Professional Learning Management Permissions window, check or uncheck the boxes next to each Account Type under View to control access to the Activity Insights page.
